North Granville Community Center

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17, ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GATHERING – 5:00 to 8:00 PM
Our annual Christmas gathering for the young and young at heart. Light snack and sweets will be served but if anyone has a special Christmas dish they wish to share then they are encouraged to bring it along. Santa will be coming to the Christmas gathering around 6 PM, this always an event that is looked forward to. The Centre will be open earlier in the day if parents want to drop in to make sure that Santa knows to bring presents (items under $10) to their children. Hope to see you there as it is a great opportunity to wish community members a happy holiday.

NORTH GRANVILLE CENTER INC. SECRETARY ROLE ON BOARD FILLED
The secretary position on North Granville Community Center board has now being filled by Peter Wood. We welcome Peter to this position and have Kellie Saarloos as a regular Board member who will provide background info to Peter.

NORTH GRANVILLE CENTER ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, JANUARY 9, 7 PM.
This years annual general meeting will include and agenda of reviewing the past year’s programs at the center, budget and our approach for hosting activities for the future. We welcome all to come and provide input to this upcoming year’s program. Coffee and cookies served.

EXERCISE CLASSES WITH Krista Hickey, Wednesday at 7:00 PM and Saturday at 9:30 AM
Exercise classes at the community center. The class she conducts is “Body Pump” which is a weight-resistance fitness class that is aimed to strengthen and tone all major muscle groups. It is an hour long workout, coordinated to motivational music, and is suitable for all fitness levels The cost is $5/class or $60 for 8 weeks. You can contact Krista at 886-2128, for info.

NEW LONDON COMPLEX, NORTH GRANVILLE HOSTED BRUNCH, JANUARY 22
The annual New London Complex fund raising brunch hosted by North Granville will take place on January 22, 2011. Contact person for this is Helen Parsons at 886-2374. Helen will be contacting people over the next little while to volunteer to contribute a desert item or their time to assist on the day of the brunch.

BOOKING COMMUNITY CENTER
Bookings are being taken by Peter Wood at 886-2309 to hold family events or other uses at the Center. Our objective is to have the center open, accessible and welcoming for community use.

EXERCISE EQUIPMENT – TWO TREADMILLS AND TWO RECUMBENT BICYCLES
Available for use on a first come first serve basis during the day or evenings. There is no cost for use. Please contact Patti Hawkins at 886-2697 to arrange access to the equipment. We are looking at having a simple, keyless number pad entry system installed so as individuals can have an access number for more convenient use of the equipment in the winter months.
